I can't believe I haven't posted in 2 weeks!! But I have to say they have been VERY busy weeks!!! The girls returned to school and I am back to full time teaching. The beginning of the school year is so crazy busy with extra paperwork, getting to know students and just plain getting back in the swing I didn't even get much creative time!! However, I finally did on Saturday so now if I can get some blogging time fit into my schedule I'll have something to share!!!
Anyhow on with the challenge!!! Today starts the 8th challenge at Paper Creations Ink which is to create any project having a distressed or vintage look!! I have to admit this is a really hard style for me!! The challenge runs from today until September 18th at 7pm CST!!!
Prize you say?? The winner will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to
Let me tell you there are LOTS of wonderful images to be had!!!!
Here's my inspiration piece using the wonderful rose fan image!!

We've decide to do 2 challenges per month so be sure to get over there and get the details!! I'll share more information on that challenge and my inspiration card tomorrow!!
One last thing -- it is also NEW RELEASE DAY for Ippity so check out the two new sets available now at Aletha's sales blog!!

Paper Creations Ink Challenge #7 - Flowers
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!
Well this is it my last full week of summer. It's back to school or all of us next week. I am hoping to get a few more days in my classroom to put some finishing touches on it as well as some time with my girls. Nat received her welcome letter so we know who she has for first grade. OK enough about the family. On with the challenge. Today starts Paper Creations Ink's Challenge #7 which is all about flowers!! All you need to do is use flowers on your creations!!
Our sponsor for this challenge is Crop Stop -- You have the chance to win a $15 gift certificate to her awesome store. As if that's not enough, Haylie Jo has provided a coupon code good for 10% off any purchase for the duration of this challenge which is August 31st at 7PM CST!!! All you need is to head over to Crop Stop and use the code PC8 and you can save 10% on all your crafting needs!!!
Here's my first card....

New Month, New Challenges
Welcome to a new month and some fun new challenges as well!!!
Get Hippity with {ippity} Challenge --
It’s that time again for another Get Hippity with {ippity} challenge. I can't believe it's our 4th month - way cool!!!!
This time we are doing a COLOR COMBO. You are to use three or more colors that you see in the inspiration card. This project was created by Angie Blom, a designer with Unity Stamp Co. She was kind enough to grant us permission. I have to tell you Angie is one of my favorite designers!! She just has such an eye for color.
The rules…
•You DO NOT have to use an {ippity} or Unity stamp, but if you do, you are entered in the drawing twice. (We use the “random generator thingy.”) DO let us know what stamp set you used in your project.
•You need to stay with the current theme. You can create any project you like, card, ATC, tags, layouts, mixed–media, altered art, etc.
•You can enter just once.
•You need to post in the discussion area at GHWI and in your TLL gallery.
•When posting to your gallery on TLL use the keyword/tag IPPITY#4. If you post other places on the web, please use GHWI#4.
•Come visit the Design Team’s blog and do a follow. We really like follows! GHWI Blog
•You will also need to HAVE FUN! That’s what we are here for
Here's my project --
Here are the details
Image - Ippity Set - What Matters Most
Sentiment - Unity Kit of the Month - December 2010
Seam Binding - JLJ Designs Artfire Store
Aletha has a new {ippity} August releases scheduled for Friday and I'm sure it's going to be another awesome one! So head over to The Latte Lounge and join our No. 4 challenge at Get Hippity with Ippity/Join the Unity Community.
Paper Creations Ink
The second challenge I want to tell you about today is found at Paper Creations Ink.... Challenge #6 - Stitching Theme!! Isn't that an awesome prize for one lucky person?
"
Be sure to head over to the Paper Creations Ink blog to get the full details on the challenge and our sponsor!!
Well that's it on the challenges today....
On a personal note, I am super excited because I am heading off with my best friend for a few days to a condo on Lake Erie!! She's not much of a crafter but that's OK because we are the type of friends who can be together and do our own thing. KWIM?? She's looking forward to chilling at the pool, reading and watching some movies and I'm taking my crafty supplies to spend some serious time creating. The one project I absolutely want to get down is our Disney album from earlier this summer. I want to journal and such while it's all fresh in my mind. Anyhow, all I know is that I am really ready for the get away.
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Blessings and Hugs!!

I'm very excited to announce .......
there's a new site in town!!!!!!!
Today is the official opening of Paper Creations Ink!! This site is the creation of my friend Sara and her fiance Michael. They've put a lot of time and effort into setting up a site that's a little different!! Here's what Sara has to say about the new site -
Michael and I (Sara) wanted to create a place where you could find a wealth of knowledge, read about the current events that are taking place around the paper crafting community, discover more ways to be able to make a difference by being involved with a special cause, and be able to have FUN while creating. Isn’t that one of the main reasons we all have come to love paper crafting?
The site will have a list of causes to support with our papercrafting. You will also find challenges, tutorials, event information, and other exciting news!! We hope you'll stop by often!!
The challenges will be posted on the 1st and 15th of each month. So let's get started with our first challenge - a Sketch!!! It will run from May 15th at 12:00am CST to May 31st 11:59 pm CST.
I used an image from my Unity Kit of the Month - March 2011
I hope you'll play along!! Thanks for coming by!!
