Paper Creations Ink Challenge #7 - Flowers

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!

Well this is it my last full week of summer. It's back to school or all of us next week. I am hoping to get a few more days in my classroom to put some finishing touches on it as well as some time with my girls. Nat received her welcome letter so we know who she has for first grade. We have open house on Thursday for Kendra so we'll find out who she has then. I can't believe she is only one grade below the grade I teach AND starting a new school!!

OK enough about the family. On with the challenge. Today starts Paper Creations Ink's Challenge #7 which is all about flowers!! All you need to do is use flowers on your creations!!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Crop Stop -- You have the chance to win a $15 gift certificate to her awesome store. As if that's not enough, Haylie Jo has provided a coupon code good for 10% off any purchase for the duration of this challenge which is August 31st at 7PM CST!!! All you need is to head over to Crop Stop and use the code PC8 and you can save 10% on all your crafting needs!!!

Here's my first card....

Good Friday Morning!!!

I have spent the past few days cleaning and organizing my classroom for the upcoming school year and am finally done!! I still have to decorate and plan but at least phase one is done. I am really looking forward to this school year. One of my favorite parts of teaching is that each year is a fresh start and is always different!!!

I have to get Kendra ready for Girls Scout camp today and Nat wants a play date as well!! I'm hoping I can still find some time to bet a bit crafty!!!

Well, on with the crafty!!!

For the first card,  I used Ippity - The Simple Things set

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday Challenge! I love this sketch and am sure I'll use it again and again!!

Here's a picture of the whole set --

I used the Unity Kit of the Month March 2011 set --

One thing I love the most about Ippity/Unity stamps are that for some reason they make me try new color palettes - softer ones. I tend to create in bright colors so much but for some reason these images always bring me back to pastels and such!!

Don't forget to work on your Get Hippity with Ippity color combo Challenge entry for your chance to win an Ippity set of your choice.  Here's the inspiration piece --

And here's the challenge details -- Please note that TLL (The Latte Lounge) is going through some incredibly awesome changes and has been renamed The Crafter's Cafe!!!
The rules…
•You DO NOT have to use an {ippity} or Unity stamp, but if you do, you are entered in the drawing twice. (We use the “random generator thingy.”) DO let us know what stamp set you used in your project.
•You need to stay with the current theme. You can create any project you like, card, ATC, tags, layouts, mixed–media, altered art, etc.
•You can enter just once.
•You need to post here in the discussion area at GHWI and in your TLL gallery.
•When posting to your gallery on TLL use the keyword/tag IPPITY#4. If you post other places on the web, please use GHWI#4.
•You will also need to HAVE FUN! That’s what we are here for.

If you follow all these guidelines, your prize is an {ippity} stamp set of your choice!

And just in case you don't win, Aletha will be more than happy to get you any Ippity Set you'd like to order from her sales blog!!

Hope you've enjoyed my sharing this week!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Monday all!!!

Hello!!! Well it's the beginning of another week. I cannot believe how quickly the summer is going I only have 2 weeks left and then it's back to school.  I really enjoy being home and not feeling as scheduled and rushed, but at the same time I miss teaching and the relationships I build with my students. I'm excited to be starting a new year with a new group. I'll miss my past students but sometimes I'm blessed enough to have them come back to visit and I enjoy that!!

OK now back to crafty the happenings.

First, I'm hosting the Get Hippity with Ippity Blog this week so there is going to be lots of Ippity goodness here too!!  Today I'm going to provide more inspiration for the August Monthly Challenge. This time we are doing a COLOR COMBO. You are to use three or more colors that you see in the inspiration card. This project was created by Angie Blom, a designer with Unity Stamp Co. She was kind enough to grant us permission. I have to tell you Angie is one of my favorite designers!! She just has such an eye for color.

Angie’s inspiration piece:

"

Be sure to head over to the Paper Creations Ink blog to get the full details on the challenge and our sponsor!!

Well that's it on the challenges today....

On a personal note, I am super excited because I am heading off with my best friend for a few days to a condo on Lake Erie!! She's not much of a crafter but that's OK because we are the type of friends who can be together and do our own thing.  KWIM?? She's looking forward to chilling at the pool, reading and watching some movies and I'm taking my crafty supplies to spend some serious time creating. The one project I absolutely want to get down is our Disney album from earlier this summer.  I want to journal and such while it's all fresh in my mind.  Anyhow, all I know is that I am really ready for the get away.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Blessings and Hugs!!
